The latest consumer spending data from NRF and Prosper Insights & Analytics’ 2020 Super Bowl survey suggests this may be one of the strongest Super Bowl yet, with nearly 194 million adults saying they have plans for the big game. Those watching the event expect to spend an average $88.65 on food and beverages, merchandise and party supplies, for a total $17.2 billion nationwide.
Of the respondents, 76 percent planned to watch the game, 19 percent planned to throw a party and 27 percent planned to attend a party. Among those watching, 80 percent planned to buy food and beverages, well above the second-planned purchase, team apparel and accessories, at 11 percent.
