The sportswear brand and retailer appointed Heidi O’Neill as president for consumer and marketplace, Andy Campion as chief operating officer, and Matthew Friend as chief financial officer.

O’Neill is currently the president of Nike Direct, and is due to replace Elliott Hill, who is retiring from the sports goods giant.

In her new role, O’Neill will lead Nike’s global sales and Nike Direct organisations, as well as its four geographic operating regions, which include EMEA, Greater China, and APLA.

She first joined Nike in 1998 as marketing director and has since held a range of senior leadership roles at the company, including vice president of Nike stores, global women’s and training businesses, and US apparel.

Her previous experience includes serving as Levi’s marketing director.

Meanwhile Campion, who currently serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer at Nike, will be succeeding Eric Sprunk in his new role as chief operating officer.

He will be responsible for driving the company’s technology and digital transformation, while also overseeing responsibilities such as sourcing and manufacturing, demand and supply management, distribution and logistics, procurement, sustainability, and workplace design and connectivity.

Campion first joined Nike in 2007, when he was vice president of global planning and development.

He went on to hold a range of different finance and strategy roles before being promoted to chief financial officer in 2015.

Friend will therefore be stepping into Campion’s previous role when he becomes chief financial officer this spring, promoted from his current position as chief financial officer of Nike’s operating segments and vice president of investor relations.

He first joined Nike as vice president for corporate strategy and development in 2009, and was promoted to chief executive of emerging markets in 2011.

“Heidi and Andy’s leadership has been instrumental in both evolving and driving Nike’s strategy over the last decade,” Nike president and chief executive John Donahoe said.

“In their new roles, we will see them have even greater impact on Nike’s success in the future.”

Donahoe took over as chief executive last month, after Nike’s longtime boss Mark Parker announced he would be stepping down in October.

Parker became executive chairman of Nike’s board.
