Striving to transcend the self-value and social value, the previous several editions of China SportShow have created a better environment for its partners with a perfect organization work, a more humane service, and a more intensified publicity. The 2011 Show was of no exception. As a most ideal platform linking the products, brand and marketing channels of Chinese sports goods industry, the China SportShow has assisted numerous domestic enterprises in pushing their brands to the world market.
Since the 28th China SportShow held in Chengdu, the organizing committee has been receiving support from the relevant departments of the Sichuan Provincial Government and Chengdu Municipal Government, as well as the society. They provide professional, warm and satisfactory service to the organizing committee in accordance with its timetable, and actively coordinate with the organizing committee in pushing forward the progress of the Show.
1.New Height in Number of Participating Enterprises and of Exhibition Area
Since November last year, promotion events have been launched respectively in Xiamen, Shenchun, Guangzhou and Shanghai by the organizing Committee for recruitment of exhibitors. Through these events, the organizers have established a good relationship with the enterprises, and helped the enterprises to have a better understanding of China SportShow. A consensus has been reached that, the 28th China SportShow in Chengdu marks that the enterprises marketing platform is now “subsided” to the second- and third-line markets and “shifted” to China’s middle and western regions.
The recruitment of exhibitors to the 28th Show have exceeded expectations: All the nine exhibition halls of the Center have been fully used, with a total floor area of 100,000 square meters or so. Participated in the Show were 1041 enterprises from more than 30 countries or regions, including China, US, Japan, Korea, Germany, and Italy, creating a new record both in number of exhibitors and in exhibition area.
2.Tendency for Sub-Division of Exhibition Zones
For providing better service for exhibitors, the organizing committee has divided the Show into 6 exhibition zones in accordance with the categories and the characters of various enterprises. Through our efforts, the degree of specialization of the 6 exhibition zones has been raised to a new height, and the exhibition scope of the enterprises is becoming larger and larger, especially so in the Sports Facilities Zone, Out-door Life Zone, Extreme Sports Zone and Leisure Sports Wear Zone.
In order to underline its specialization characters, the Sports Facilities Zone, with more than 130 domestic and overseas enterprises, has been divided into five sub-zones, such as, Artificial Turf Sub-zone, Floor Materials Sub-zone, etc since last year.
The areas of the Out-door Life Zone and Extreme Sports Zone have been increased by 15% over 2010. Among the exhibitors, some are new clients who are the first time to participate in the Show, and some are the old clients who have participated in the Show several times, and some who have followed the Show for a decade. We believe that, the sport good industry can benefit from the more mature out-door market and marketing system in Chengdu.
The Leisure Sport Wear Zone will catch the eye of the people, due to participation of some famous brands, such as, Adidas, Anta, Li-Ning, 361°, Warrior, Drance, etc and the attractive T-shaped platform of the fashion show. It was proved by the heat of the model contest held previously. During the official contest, 30 outstanding models will be selected and the most fashionable sports wear will be shown to the spectators.
With an area larger than four exhibition halls, the Fitness and Rehabilitation Equipment Zone will be the largest in area. As there is a great demand for exhibition space, in order to maintain balance and to avoid unhealthy competition among the enterprises, we have to regulate that the exhibition area for each enterprise is limited to 400 square meters, so that more enterprises can participate in the Show.
Stimulated by the fever of the national fitness campaign in the past two years, especially the number of in-door sports funs has been doubled in the last several years, the Tennis and Badminton Zone has shown an increase in number and quality of the participating enterprises. More and more domestic and international famous brands, including Mizuno, Stiga, Adidas, DHS, Double Fish, Spalding, LP and AQ, have demonstrated that they have the same enthusiasm in participating in the Show as before.
3. Professional Visitors will be grouped by “categories” and be “present collectively” at the Show
As the professional visitors are the lifeblood of China SportShow, on which the Show rely for existence and development, so the organizers of the 2012 SportShow pay a great attention to the quantity as well as the quality of the visitors invited. After extensive investigations on the exhibitors, all professional visitors will be classified in accordance with the various demands of the exhibitors.
Regarding organization of domestic professional visitors, we shall strengthen cooperation with Chinese Association of General Merchandise and other associations or guilds, and invite relevant sports officials and sports-related purchasers to the Show. As China is now enforcing the policy of centralized procurement, the relevant personnel the provincial procurement centers should also be invited. Regarding organization of overseas professional visitors, the organizing committee has already got touch with more than 20 sports goods exhibitions for promoting the China SportShow. It is estimated that there will be more than 2,000 overseas purchasers from more than 40 countries and regions to participate in the Show. Meanwhile, the recruitment for VIP visitors and sports funs is undergoing smoothly.
The Organizing Committee has sent invitations to more than 30 provincial sports bureaus, centralized purchasing centers, major department stores recommended by the Chinese Commence Association for General Merchandise, star hotels affiliated to China Hotel Association, purchasing agents of the education circles as well as fitness, tennis, badminton and out-door sports clubs. Invitations have also been sent to the visitors of those countries whose sport goods organizations have a close relationship with the China Sports Goods Federation. Several hundred overseas visitors from more than 60 countries and regions have applied for visiting the Show. Some overseas purchasing groups who have attended the Show for many years, voluntarily have got touch with the organizing committee, expressing their desire of participation. In addition to that, Japan, Korea, India, Taiwan and some other countries or regions will send observers to attend the Show.
For strengthen the links between exhibitors and visitors, the VIP professional visitors of the general merchandise, hotels and sports clubs as well as the overseas buyers will be organized to meet the key exhibitors during the Show. The professional visitors will be grouped by “categories” and be organized to “present themselves collectively” at the Show.
The Organizing Committee pays high attention to invitation of professional visitors from Chengdu. With the support of the Chengdu Municipal Government, the administrative and purchasing departments of Chengdu Sports Bureau, Education Bureau and Commerce Bureau have been encouraged to participate in the Show.
The recruitment of ordinate visitors is mainly focused on Chengdu. The organizing committee has intensified its efforts of publicity by the means of posters and complimentary tickets. Through the key exhibitors, sports goods dealers, Chengdu Sports Bureau, Education Bureau, Commerce Bureau, Chengdu Mountaineering Association and Aerobics Association, over 1100 posters, 100,000 complimentary tickets and 35,000 leaflets have been distributed or posted.
4. Excellent Activities and Forums
To enhance the communication and interaction between the exhibitor and visitor, all kinds of themed activities will be held during the China SportShow, which can be classified into 5 categories, 26 disciplines and nearly 50 events. It is the first time that China SportShow hosts intensely so many forums and events. Covering the areas of sports industry, competitive sports and spots-for-all, these forums and events will be divided into several levels and designed to accommodate various needs of different groups of the people, such as, sports administers, decision-makers of enterprise, scholars and experts, technicians and researchers, sports facilities administrators, sports goods dealers, manufacturers, athletes and sports funs. The events to be held will include outdoor activities, extreme sports, fitness, bodybuilding, tennis, badminton, football and fashion show, etc. The people can have an access to the events of the rudimentary knowledge or of advanced knowledge , in the fields of policy-interpretation, industry development, financial investment, technology research, sports facilities operation, standard assessment, recreation and interaction, etc.
The five categories of events will include:
1. High-level forums—including China sports industry and sports goods development forum, Fitness management summit, Sports facilities industry summit and Sports capitals forum. It is the first time that the sports facilities industry summit and the Sports capitals forum is held during the Show, to answer to the call of development of the national fitness cause as stipulated in the China’s Twelfth Five-year Plan, and establishment of the concept of “Macro Sports Outlook, Macro Industry Outlook” for the development and sport industry, and in the service of sports industry and economic society.
2. Welfare Donation—donation with the theme of “Come along, we are on the same road”, badminton charitable donation. To be held at 14:00 on 14th, the “Come along, we are on the same road”themed donation is sponsored by China Sporting Goods Federation, together with some sports goods enterprises, who will propose to all the exhibitors to donate all kinds of sports equipments, sportswear, and sports facilities, to help the middle and primary schools in the earthquake-stricken area in Sichuan Province for post-disaster reconstruction, so that the children there can enjoy the fun from sports and can grow healthily.
3. Competitions and Demonstrations—China Sports Model Show, badminton team competition, stringing experts competition, Rock-Climbing elite competition, Fitness and bodybuilding elite invitation tournament
4. Training and Experience—tennis and badminton carnival, Outdoors knowledge lecture and fitness business exchange meetings.
5. Trade and business talks --The purchasing group of the China Commerce Association for General Merchandise, the purchasing group of China Hotel Association, Technology and Equipment Institute of Education Bureau, overseas VIP purchasers will have talks and exchanges with the key exhibitors. It is the first time in the history of China SportShow that a serial of activities will be organized by the Organizing Committee, from which, manufacturers, dealers and retailers can have face-to-face communication, exchanges and dialogues, and exhibitors and professional visitors will enjoy most professional and valuable service.
