Co-hosted by the Sports Equipment Administrative Center of the General Administration of Sport of China and the China Sporting Goods Federation, China SportShow Promotion Traveling Exhibitions are now under way in Guangzhou, Shanghai and Xiamen. It is confirmed that the 30th China SportShow 2012, with the theme of “Creativity, Responsibility, and Win-win”, will be held in the Beijing New International Exhibition Center from May 17 to 20, 2012. The promotional events in three cities mark that under guidance of a series of innovative service concepts, the preparation work of the China SportShow, including recruitment of exhibitors, invitation of professional attendees, organization of events and publicity, is now launched.
Coinciding with its 30th anniversary, the China SportShow 2012 will be milestone in its history, a grand gathering of sports industries, and an important event linking the past and the future. Under the support of the General Administration of Sport of China, China Sporting Goods Federation, the governments of all levels and sports goods enterprises, the China SportShow 2012 will be the largest and most comprehensive show of sports goods in the Asia-Pacific region. It will be an important window for the Chinese sports goods industry to develop its brands, expand export and exploit new market, an important channel to display the achievement of the sports goods industry, spread the new concepts of sports and culture, and an important platform to show the comprehensive sports industries, embracing sports goods, sports marketing resources and sports culture and science. Under a series of policies released by the state aimed at expansion of domestic demand, the China SportShow is the only sports and leisure exhibition supported by the Ministry of Commerce in the area of domestic trade, and subsidized by the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Finance. From 2009 to 2011, the China SportShow was subsidized consecutively by the state for supporting small and medium enterprises to participate in the Show. It will help them to expand their domestic and international markets and exploit new marketing channels.
Mr. Ma Jilong, Director General of the Sports Equipment Administrative Center, and Vice President & Secretary General of the China Sporting Goods Federation, stated at the Promotion Event that, the 30th China SportShow 2012 will be more professional, standardized and internationalized. On the basis of the present scope of the exhibition, we shall strive to promote the overall quality of the exhibition, raise the standard of service and management, build a service system for the exhibitors, attendees and media, strengthen brand promotion and publicity, focus on invitation of domestic and overseas purchasers, and meet the diversified needs of the enterprises. Our goal is to turn the China SportShow into the wind vane for the development of sports goods industry.
Particularly, it can be accomplished through the work in the following five aspects:
1. To spread the sports culture and the health concept through the platform of China SportShow, for attracting more people to participate in sports activities, achieving integration of competitive sports with sports-for-all, promoting sports consumption and providing the enterprises with more business opportunities.
2. To promote self-renovation, encourage the enterprises to exhibit their new products, new technology and new operation methods. The organizing committee should make publicities energetically of those enterprises actively participating in the Show and carry special articles in its official bulletin and guidebooks.
3. To invite more domestic and international professional experts to the forums or training courses for dissemination of advanced marketing methods, operation concepts and management theories, so as to raise its ability and quality of in-depth services.
4. To introduce the concept of “Show within the Show”at an accelerated pace, for enhancing its role of guidance in the development of the industry. Next year, the Fitness Zone will be named as “China SportShow – Fitness Exhibition”. A package of promotion events and invitation will be developed for the fitness industry, so as to build a unified stage for the fitness industry covering exhibitions, forums, training and demonstrations.
5. To publish the White paper of sports goods industry, for fully reporting the situation of development of domestic sports goods industry, and providing sound information service for the healthy development of the sports goods industry.
It is estimated that the China SportShow 2012 will attract more than 1000 enterprises and 100000 professional visitors and sports funs. All 8 exhibition hall of the Beijing New International Exhibition Center will be used by the Show, covering a total indoor exhibition area of more than 100,000 square meters. Base on the products categories, the 8 exhibition halls will be divided into 6 themed zone: leisure sportswear zone, outdoor life and roller skating zone, tennis and badminton zone, ball games zone, fitness and rehabilitation equipment zone, sports facilities zone. Gratifying results has been achieved since the recruitment of the exhibitors. Many enterprises have shown a great zeal of participation. The majority of the leading brand enterprises have expressed their intention of participation. Till now, more than 500 enterprises have submitted their applications. More than 70,000 square meters of exhibition booths have been booked. Generally speaking, the situation of recruiting exhibitors of this year is better than that of the same period of last year.
The professional visitors constitute the lifeblood of a giant Sports Show. We must pay great attention to the quantity as well as the quality of visitors invited. When inviting domestic visitors, we must strengthen cooperation with various Chinese associations and guilds of general merchandise, try to invite more officials and purchasers of the sports circles. With the consideration of procurement policy of the government, the people from provincial or city procurement centers should also be invited. Regarding invitation of overseas professional visitors, the organizing Committee has established its links with organizers of more than 20 sports goods exhibitions. It is estimated that around 2,000 overseas purchasers from 40 countries and regions will attend the Show. Meanwhile, the recruitment for VIP visitors and sports funs is underway smoothly.
To further promote exchanges and interactions between the exhibitors and visitors, and in light with the characters and the conditions of various enterprises, the organizing committee will provide specialized service and trade stages for the exhibitors in different zones, such as, high-level forums, trade meetings, competitions and demonstrations, training and interactions. A host of forums will be organized during the Show, such as, sports industry and sports goods industry development forum, sports capital forum, sports facilities industry summit, fitness industry summit and Fitness business exchange meetings. At these forums, the entrepreneurs will speak about their policies and their objective needs. During the Show, the visitors can also observe or attend some sporting events, for example, tennis and badminton carnival, stringing experts competition, Sports for All competitions, Outdoor Science Experience Zone, football carnival, fitness, yoga and belly dance exercises and so on.
Integreting the experience of SportShow held in Chengdu, the publicity work of the SportShow 2012 will be further strengthened. The publicity strategy will be formulated in accordance with theme of “Creativity, Responsibility and Win-win”and by combining the celebration of the 30th edition of the SportShow. The publicity work will be launched rhythmically and in a planned way in accordance with the five phases of the Show, that is, recruitment of exhibitors, commercial recruitment, pre-Show preheating period, Show period and post-Show summary. We shall make full use of well-developed media industry of TV, internet, press and broadcasting in Beijing for achieving the maximum of efficiency of publicity.
The incoming 2012 China SportShow will be a demonstration of the achievements of the past 29 editions and will mark that the China SportShow has entered a new stage of development and be placed on a higher starting point. Just as the cannotation of the theme “Creativity, Responsibility, Win-win” representing the past, present and future of the Show, the Organizing Committee of the 30th China SportShow 2012 has made its solemn promise at the promotion events that, for the development of Chinese sports industry, it will be more creative; for providing high-quality sports goods for the public, it will take more responsibilities; and for achieving the common development and prosperity, it will make more effort in a pursuit of “win-win” situation. We will strive to turn the China SportShow 2012 into a professional, authoritative and international fare, and a wind vane of the sports industry. Let’s go hand in hand for the glory of the China SportShow 2012.
